Home Team started with only a mission to help people. Along the way our team and scope of services have developed dramatically, which we largely attribute to the array of diversity within our organization. Home Team offers an all encompassing housing solution for our customers. Each step of the process is carefully executed to ensure an end product that is beneficial to all. Our success stems from the leadership that we have in place.

David Prentice | Chairman, and CEO

David is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Home Team. He founded Home Team in 2011 as a foreclosure defense firm after his father lost his home in the 2008 crash.

The firm evolved over time as the business grew and the economic environment changed. Today, Home Team operates as a full-service property solutions firm focused on creating home ownership. As CEO, David spends his time overseeing and supporting the people within each division that cumulatively serve Home Team’s customer base while constantly driving innovation and creating new opportunities. His focus revolves around bolstering Home Team’s value systems to maintain a culture of service and excellence.

In addition to Home Team, David has served several other real estate investment ventures as a partner, board member, investor, and advisor. He was a best-selling author in 2014 with Overextended and continues to educate, empower and give back to his community through speaking engagements, mentoring, and charitable endeavors. David lives in Detroit with his wife, Caren, and their two dogs.

Jasmina Wikenczy | Real Estate Broker

Jasmina is a licensed real estate broker and attorney. She has been involved in the residential real estate industry since 2011, with all those years being served within the Home Team organization.

Today Jasmina acts as Real Estate Broker and In-House Counsel, using her vast expertise to guide new homeowners through the purchase process. She is a member of the Michigan BAR association, Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors. She is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Michigan Court of Appeals, and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, in addition to all other

Michigan courts. Jasmina graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Psychology and a Bachelor of Philosophy. She went on to Western Michigan University Cooley Law School to obtain her juris doctorate. Her expertise extends into homeowner property sales, mortgage financing, loan loss mitigation, probate, and bankruptcy for both debtors and creditors. Jasmina is trilingual and is a Notary Public.

Matthew Wawrzyniak | Finance Officer

Matthew is a licensed mortgage loan originator, realtor, and Notary Public. He has been rapidly rising in the real estate and finance industries since 2013, starting as an intern at Home Team.

In 2016 he stepped up to open and operate the finance arm of the company. Since then he has been successful in obtaining all three major mortgage licenses for the State of Michigan – mortgage broker, mortgage lender, and mortgage servicer. Under his leadership, Home Team has forged partnerships with several lending institutions in

banks included among them Quicken Loans, Flagstar Bank, Chemical Bank, Wells Fargo, and Chase Bank to expand the company’s mortgage lending reach. Matthew graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in business.

Edna Bell | VP of Community Relations

Edna Bell is Vice President of Community Affairs for Home Team. Edna is responsible for growing and maintaining the organization’s brand within the community through her numerous political contacts and affiliations.

She is also a key member of Home Team’s lineup for obtaining municipal projects. Ms. Bell was elected and served as County Commissioner (District 8) for The County of Wayne Michigan, 1991-2000. She served a constituency of 150,000 with an intense focus on job development, decreasing crime, increasing public safety, and supporting minority business. While tenured, she established and implemented program that became the

Wayne County/Detroit Sustainable Development Roundtable and the Drug Free School Zone program, protecting vulnerable youth within three blocks of Detroit Public School. Prior to that, Ms. Bell held many management positions at Michigan Bell Telephone Company, 1969-1989. Edna graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Education.
